Crematorium proposed by Horizon Cremation

Horizon Cremation are proposing to build a crematorium on Methley Lane. The planning application (25/06026/FU) is available to view and have your say, comments should be submitted by 12 December. 

Horizon Cremation held a drop-in exhibition at Oulton Institute on Wednesday 15 October. An overview of their plans can be found online at www.horizon-consultation.co.uk.

LCC Local Plan - Consultation Open

LCC Local Plan Consultation (Closes 15 September 2025)

The Leeds Local Plan contains policy and potential sites to build on between now and 2042. This includes housing, commercial, industrial and energy related sites.

The Neighbourhood Forum will be meeting at 7.30pm on Monday 1 September 2025 at the Oulton Institute to discuss these proposals. Please come and have your say, raise your concerns and ask questions. We wish to understand the view of our community to guide our representations to LCC.

NOTICE - change of meeting

Due to the consultation event taking place on 7 April at Oulton Hall, regarding plans for a crematorium in Oulton, our normal monthly meeting shall not be taking place at Oulton Institute on that day.

If you have an urgent matter to discuss with the Forum's Steering Committee, please do get in touch so we can make appropriate arrangements to discuss.

Crematorium consultation event by Westerleigh Group

There are plans emerging for a crematorium and cemetery, roughly opposite the academy on the same side of the road as the sports centre. Further details are below, and a public event has been arranged:
