David Cove receives Community Contribution Award

Oulton and Woodlesford Neighbourhood Forum today presented David Cove with an award to recognise his contribution to the community.

Having established the Forum, David was instrumental in developing the Neighbourhood Plan*, to protect the character of our villages and their future development. He held the position of Chairman for over a decade until his retirement due to ill health.

David was involved in many initiatives within the villages and with national organisations that afforded benefit to our community. His passion and enthusiasm were infectious, inspiring others to get involved and volunteer for the good of the community.

We thank him for his enormous contribution over many years, a legacy that has and will continue to benefit those that live within Oulton and Woodlesford, and generations to come.

* The Oulton and Woodlesford Neighbourhood Plan referendum was held on Thursday 2 December  2021 with 92.2% of voters in favour of the plan. A neighborhood plan gains the same legal status as the Local Plan after it has been approved in a referendum. The local planning authority then "makes" it, which brings it into legal force following an independent examination.
